Nadi Gogoulou (b.1988) is a dance artist with a video-ing practice. She studied dance and economics in Athens, and holds a Master in choreography, “New Performative Practices” by the Stockholm University of the Arts. She has been awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship by ARTWORKS (2021).
She has collaborated as a dancer with Greek choreographers including Christos Papadopoulos, Artemis Lampiri, Maria Koliopoulou, Medie Mega, Ochi Pezoume company, Dance Connection, in dance and sitespecific performances in International artistic Festivals in Greece. Especially with Christos Papadopoulos’s dance performances “Elvedon” and “Ion”, she has been in European tours and performed in several International festivals around Europe, such as Julidans festival, Aerowaves Spring Forward festival, Romaeuropa Festival, Dublin Dance Festival, Cyprus Contemporary Dance Festival, Theatre de Vidy Lausanne, Theatre de la Ville, and more.
As a maker she creates projects of her own such as B.A.W.L. (2021-2023), The cooking-with-Nadi show (supported by Onassis Cultural center for 8th New Choreographer’s Festival, 2021), sHow.me (2019), The move (2019), On the spot (2016), DownFall (2012). As a by product of her work she has directed few short films (#handstand, damn) which have been screened in international film festivals In Greece, Cyprus and Belgium. Currently Nadi is partnering and co-working with Konstantina Barkouli, in an ongoing research project “Dio: a 2K experience”.
In addition she has worked as a choreographer in a number of theater productions in Greece with directors such as Thanos Papakonstantinou (for Thyestes, Apocalypse), Marios Panagiotou (for The Tempest), Katerina Giannopoulou (for the In a year of 13 moons, The ridiculous darkness) and the 4Frontal company (for Woyzeck), in Athens and Epidaurus Festival, the Experimental Stage of National Theater of Greece, and several theaters in Athens.
At last she has been a choreographer for staged Opera productions in direction of Thanos Papakonstantinou and conducting of George Petrou (for Ifigenie En tauride), Andis Skordis (for Argos Sidiros), and Dimitris Maramis (for The Haunted), for the Athens Music Hall, and Kypria International Festival.
